SINOPSE / SYNOPSIS
Cinema Direto, com o subtítulo A Pós-Verdade na Era do Deepfake, conta a história de Ligéia de Andrade (33), mulher cis negra que trabalha como redatora de um conglomerado de mídia, o grupo Mundo, e que tem como maior sonho se tornar repórter investigativa.
Cansada do trabalho entediante da redação após a chegada das Inteligências Artificiais, e temendo pelo seu próprio emprego que está sob risco, ela se vê envolta em um misterioso caso de deepfakes pornográficos: vídeos de natureza sexual, criados e/ou manipulados por IA, em que se utilizam rostos reais de mulheres vítimas para este crime horrendo. Porém, antes que possa denunciar o assunto proibido no próprio jornal, Ligéia se vê em meio a uma grande conspiração após ter registrado em película fotográfica um encontro entre um proeminente político e uma das mulheres vítimas. Ela é descredibilizada enquanto mulher negra e lésbica, e vê o sistema panóptico da sociedade em que vive se tornar uma forma de reforçar preconceitos e comportamentos criminosos, como o racismo, o machismo, e o tráfico sexual e de pessoas.
Direct Cinema, subtitled Post-Truth in the Age of Deepfake, tells the story of Ligéia de Andrade (33), a cisgender Black woman who works as a writer for a media conglomerate, the Mundo group, and whose greatest dream is to become an investigative reporter.
Tired of the tedious work in the newsroom after the arrival of Artificial Intelligence, and fearing for her own job, which is at risk, she finds herself embroiled in a mysterious case of pornographic deepfakes: sexually explicit videos, created and/or manipulated by AI, in which the real faces of female victims are used for this horrific crime. However, before she can denounce the forbidden subject in her own newspaper, Ligéia finds herself in the middle of a major conspiracy after having photographed a meeting between a prominent politician and one of the female victims. She is discredited as a Black lesbian woman, and sees the panoptic system of the society in which she lives become a way of reinforcing prejudices and criminal behaviors, such as racism, sexism, and sex and human trafficking.
